My new supercab doesn't have a sliding rear window, nor do I really want one as it would be very difficult reaching wa-ay back there to open it, and I certainly wouldn't dare trying to try and do so while driving. My old Ranger had a sliding rear window, and I found out if it was opened along with either of the front windows the combination would provide excellent ventilation without creating a hurricane inside the cab. I say is because it is still running fine. Ironic because my last Ranger is the most dependable vehicle I have ever owned. I literally bought it off the flatbed truck it was still sitting on, before it had even been unloaded onto their lot!Īs it was the last remaining Ranger, of their last order, of the last model year, I named it "Kemo-Sabe" which Ironically enough I later found out is supposed to mean " faithful friend". Wouldn't you know it, it was exactly the model I wanted. As he was returning to tell me what if anything he had found, a man walked in the front door asking "where they wanted that last Ranger?". So the dealer made a call to another lot to see if they had one. manual supercab with no bells or whistles truck. When I went to the dealer in September of 2011 I looked over what they had, but didn't find what I wanted - a basic 2.3 5Sp. I was going to totally rebuild it, with a newer engine, new paint, interior, but when I found out the newer engines would not fit without very expensive mods, I decided it would be a better idea just to start out with a new one. I got it with 98,000 miles on it, and over the next ten years I put another 200,000+ trouble free miles on it. I bought my first Ranger in 2001, a used 1991 2.3 XLT Reg. As it involves a little self history I Thought I would also use it as my intro post (hope y'all don't mind). This is my first post here, and really the reason I joined.
